Connecting to Jellyfin

Jellyfin is self-hosted, so you connect Zuno by pointing it at your server’s address and signing in with your Jellyfin account.

Entering your server address

1. On the welcome screen, tap Continue with Jellyfin. To add one later, open Settings → Sources & Servers and tap Add Jellyfin/Emby Server.
2. Enter your Server URL, for example http://192.168.1.100:8096.
   • Zuno also scans your local network and lists any servers it finds, so you can often just tap yours instead of typing the address.
   • You can leave off http://; it is added automatically. If you can’t connect, try switching between http:// and https://, as some servers only accept one.
   • Include the port (8096 by default) unless you reach your server through a reverse proxy on the standard port.

Signing in

1. Enter your username and password. Leave the password blank if your account doesn’t have one.
2. Tap Sign In.

Sign in with a code instead

If your server has Quick Connect enabled, Zuno offers Sign In with Quick Connect. Instead of typing your password, you approve a code from a device that’s already signed in, handy if your account uses single sign-on and has no password.

Your credentials are stored securely in the iCloud Keychain and sync across your devices.

Choosing libraries

After signing in, your Jellyfin libraries appear on the home screen. Which libraries you see is controlled by your Jellyfin account’s permissions, set on the server itself.

Troubleshooting the connection

Zuno can’t connect. Double-check the URL and port, try switching between http:// and https://, and make sure your device is on the same network as the server (or that the server is reachable from where you are watching).

I don’t know my password. If your server supports Quick Connect, use that instead.

Behind a reverse proxy or gateway?

If your server sits behind an authentication gateway (such as Authelia or Authentik) that expects a header on each request, you can add custom headers per server. See Connecting through a secure gateway.
