Requesting Movies & Shows

Zuno can connect to Seerr, Jellyseerr, or Overseerr so you can request movies and shows that aren’t in your library yet, right from inside the app. When a title isn’t available, you request it, and your server sorts out the rest.

Requests are made per profile

Each Zuno profile signs in to Seerr with its own account, so every request is made as that person. Your partner’s requests arrive as them, your kids’ as them, and approvals and limits on your server apply to the right person automatically.

The server address and the on/off switch are shared across everyone, since you’re all pointing at the same Seerr. Only the sign-in is personal to each profile.

How a profile signs in depends on what kind of profile it is.

Plex Home users. If you use Plex Home, Zuno automatically shows everyone in your Home as their own profile. Each of these is a full Plex account, so it can sign in to Seerr with Plex, as themselves.
Local profiles. These are profiles you create in Zuno yourself, with just a name and a picture. They aren’t tied to a Plex account, so they can’t use Plex sign-in. They sign in with a Seerr account instead.

Open Settings › Integrations, turn on Seerr, enter your server address, then choose a sign-in method. Zuno only shows the methods that make sense for your setup:

Seerr account (always available). Sign in with the email address and password for your account on the Seerr server. Use your email, not a username. This is the method for local profiles, and for anyone whose Seerr account isn’t linked to Plex or Jellyfin.
Plex (shown when you have a Plex server connected). Signs the current profile in with its own Plex account, so no password is needed.
Jellyfin (shown when you have a Jellyfin server connected). Sign in with your Jellyfin username and password.
API key (always available). Uses your Seerr admin key. Requests made this way appear as the server owner rather than as the individual profile, so it’s best kept for a single-user setup.

Switch to the profile you want to set up.
Open Settings › Integrations and turn on Seerr.
Enter your server address (for example http://192.168.1.100:5055).
Pick a sign-in method and sign in. Zuno confirms when you’re connected.

Signing in on more than one device

Once a profile is signed in to Seerr, that sign-in syncs to your other devices through iCloud, so you don’t have to enter it again on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV separately. You do need to be on that profile, signed in to the same iCloud account, on each device.

Making a request

Open any movie or show that isn’t in your library and choose Request. You can also request by voice with Siri. See Siri, Shortcuts & Visual Intelligence.

Choosing seasons for a show

When you request a show with more than one season, Zuno asks which seasons you want. Every season is selected to begin with, so you can just confirm to request the whole show, or tap seasons to pick only the ones you’re missing. Select All and Deselect All are there when you want to change everything at once.

Movies and single-season shows are requested straight away, with no extra step.

Requesting seasons you don’t have yet

If a show is already in your library but you’re missing some seasons, you don’t need to go looking for it separately. Open the show and tap the season picker at the top of the episodes list. Alongside the seasons you already have, any seasons that exist but aren’t in your library appear under Available to Request. Tap one to request it, just as you would a brand-new show.

This only shows when Seerr is set up and there are seasons left to request, so a show you have in full looks exactly as it did before.
