Requirements

Here’s what you need to run Zuno and get the best out of it.

Zuno runs on Apple devices:

Device Minimum OS
iPhone iOS 18 or later
iPad iPadOS 18 or later
Apple TV tvOS 18 or later
Mac macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later

Your Zuno account and most of your settings sync across your devices, so you can set things up on your phone and pick up where you left off on your Apple TV.

Zuno is a player for your own media server. You’ll need one of:

  • Plex
  • Jellyfin
  • Emby

You sign in to your server from within Zuno. See Getting Started for how to connect one.

  • For playback on your home network, your device and your server should be on the same network, or your server should be reachable from wherever you’re watching.
  • Higher qualities and advanced formats need enough bandwidth between your device and your server. If you’re on mobile data, Zuno can automatically lower the quality to save data (see Playback).

To enjoy the premium formats Zuno supports, you’ll need:

  • A compatible display for HDR video, and a compatible TV or receiver for immersive and surround audio.
  • Zuno Pro for advanced HDR and immersive, object-based audio. See Advanced Formats for the full breakdown and how playback falls back on the free tier.
  • Some features, including Screenings and the beta, require you to be signed in.
  • The TestFlight beta requires an active Zuno Pro subscription and Sign in with Apple.
